He worked as an art director, copywriter and creative director for various agencies, taking home several awards from the D&AD, One Show and Cannes Lions, before he started directing in 2013.
In 2013, Rodrigo switched to directing, and things happened pretty quickly from there. His commercial for Scrabble took the internet by storm, and won him his first Cannes Lion, with Time Magazine calling it “The perfect love story for word nerds”.
From then on a whole list of high profile clients came along. Clients such as Coca-Cola, Jeep, Cadillac, Dropbox, Nissan and Jeep were attracted to his quirky visual sense, borderline OCD attention to detail and intricate transitions.
In early 2018, Rodrigo premiered his short film for the Francis Coppola Winery at the Sundance Film Festival and was subsequently admitted into the Directors Guild of America.
