Lisa Boostani

Lisa Boostani is a French director, photographer and performance artist of Iranian and Spanish descent. She studied photography in Paris where she developed technical skills and a singular visual aesthetic that serves as a powerful support for poetic storytelling. Lisa likes to create sharp cinematic compositions and dreamlike atmospheres, using movement, dance and soundscapes. In her multi-dimensional art practice, she sets herself on stage, questioning and rethinking notions of identity, its modes of representation, while playing with symbols and archetypes to re-frame the mythical into humorous and absurd self-derision and fantasy.

Based in Barcelona, she has been working in the fields of art, fashion and advertising. Her work has been featured in Centre Pompidou, Rencontres d’Arles, Villa Noailles, BMW Art Makers, InCadaqués Photo Festival or Bourse de Paris. She has also been featured in magazines such as Fucking Young!, Tissue, Purple Fashion Magazine, Fisheye or Les Inrockuptibles. Her client list includes Gucci, Desigual, Bershka, La Manso, Ader Error, Lolita Lempicka or Greygooze.
